DO THIS: Recycled percussion

A group that employs buckets, car parts and power tools to create a wildly entertaining stage show lands in St. Pete.

For those who frequent subways in New York, the sight of a street performer drumming on a bucket may be commonplace. When Recycled Percussion’s frontman, Justin Spencer, saw this, it inspired him. From the groups first performance at their high school talent show to their run on America’s Got Talent, the band has rocked the country with their unique and creative sound. Between buckets, car parts and power tools, Recycled Percussion makes music from anything they can get their hands on. With their wild, yet colorful image, the guys of Recycled Percussion look somewhat like a nu-metal re-imagining of the Wiggles. Despite their slightly goofy appearance, they deliver electrifying and musically innovating performances. If you like the Blue Man Group but have an alien phobia, Recycled Percussion is for you. Recycled Percussion, Fri., Aug. 5, 8 p.m., Mahaffey Theater, 400 First St. S., St. Petersburg, 727-892-5767, $29-$49, themahaffey.com.
