One of the newest local businesses to join forces with Publix is known for whipping up prepared foods in Tampa. On Thursday, the company in question, Eat Fresco, announced its partnership with the Florida-based supermarket chain, a collaboration that has allowed Eat Fresco to snag shelf space in select stores.

Starting Friday, shoppers should see Eat Fresco's line of convenient, health-minded entrees in 21 Publix locations throughout the region. Where? In the refrigerated section of the deli.

Each meal is created in a state-of-the-art kitchen and features vacuum-sealed, transparent packaging that the biz says maintains freshness and offers portability. Options include the turkey breast and quinoa medley, grilled chicken fajita bowl, balsamic glazed grilled salmon and Caribbean-style jerk chicken.

"We are thrilled that even more people in the Tampa Bay area will be able to have convenient access to delicious, fresh prepared meals through our partnership with Publix," says a statement from Tracy Povolny, who founded Eat Fresco with her husband Rob in 2014. "We look forward to continuing to provide healthy eating options for time-starved customers."

Across the state, Eat Fresco's prepared meals are sold in more than 50 retail stores, the full list of which is available online.
