A documentary about St. Petersburg blues pioneer Sterling “Mister Satan” Magee and Adam Gussow, collectively known as blues duo Satan and Adam, is drawing a lot of attention at film festivals across the country, and a trio of screenings will give Bay area music historians a chance to finally see the V. Scott Balcerek-directed film on a big-ish screen (the duo also made cameo in U2’s 1988 rock doc Rattle and Hum).

An RSVP is required to see the Listen Up Film Series’ free St. Pete (Hideaway Café, May 13) and Tampa (Hooch and Hive, May 14) screenings, but Magee himself will be at Gulfport Casino benefit on May 18.
