Fans of the lone Florida location for Quaker Steak & Lube (it’s in Pinellas Park #HumbleBrag) are about to be mighty happy. The Ohio-based automotive-themed restaurant franchise is going back to its roots — kinda like Tampa’s Busch Gardens has — with a limited-time throwback menu built upon some of its most popular and classic dishes.
Specialty sandwiches and appetizers make up the six “favorites” that the Lube plans to reintroduce as of Tuesday: Cajun blue cheese chips, Greek nachos and potato skins — plus the 1-pound Bigga Burger (chopped steakburger with ranch sauce and cheese and grilled onions seasoned in chipotle barbecue rub), traditional GTO Gyro (blend of beef and lamb on toasted pita bread) and cheesesteak melt (Philadelphia-style steak with cheese, mushrooms, onions and “secret” horseradish mustard sauce).
National mixology expert Armando Rosario, who lives in Orlando, has also leant his 30-plus years of expertise to the franchise, helping curate its refreshed selection of cocktails. Bay area customers can now down everything from Mules and piña coladas to boozy lemonades and margaritas.
What’s more, the Lube’s beer list has also been expanded with new IPAs, ales and ciders.
“We’re very excited to offer these cocktails crafted in partnership with Armando Rosario,” said Bruce Lane, vice president of operations for Quaker Steak & Lube, in a statement. “His philosophy of keeping things fresh and simple has paired well with our desire to offer guests a new variety of specialty drinks crafted with quality ingredients and liquors.”
The Lube, in case anyone’s curious, operates nearly 50 locations in 14 states throughout the U.S.
