Keep those shout-outs to the region's brewed goodness coming.

I think this calls for a beer.

We just wrote about Tampa Bay’s Great American Beer Festival nods, I know. But a few other breweries in the area recently received a shout-out from digital magazine Paste, which is also pretty neat.

In an article titled “The Surprising, Evolving (Sunshine) State of Florida Craft Beer,” writer Jim Vorel discusses the progression of the Florida brewing scene, among other things, tying it all into the Florida Tap Invitational, a beer fest hosted annually by Tallahassee’s Proof Brewing Co. in late September.

The piece concludes with a rundown of Vorel’s 10 favorite finds throughout the celebration of state-made beer. Locals will be happy to know those include the Focus IPA from Sarasota’s Calusa Brewing, the collaboration Wild Florida Saison between Hourglass Brewing and Tarpon Springs’ Saint Somewhere Brewing Company, and the Apricot Berliner Weisse from Angry Chair Brewing, a Tampa brewery Paste just so happened to recognize last week as well.
