Florida Conservation Voters wants to get supporters of Democratic Florida Senate candidate Lindsay Cross into shape.
Well, in a way.
Cross, who worked as the executive director of the Florida Wildlife Corridor, is running against Republican incumbent Jeff Brandes for Florida Senate District 24. Ahead of the election, FCV plans to host the Cross Campaign Bootcamp in St. Petersburg.
The training sesh — scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Eckerd College — allows members of the community to meet Cross and learn how to canvas, phone bank and write a letter to the editor, among other tactics.
Time has been set aside to phone bank and canvas for the Cross campaign afterward.
"With your help, we can elect a true conservation leader in St. Petersburg," writes FCV on its Facebook event page.
