Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz — a congressman-shaped glob of conspiracy theories — recently appeared on Fox News to argue that the internet is somehow manipulating President Donald Trump’s many, many connections to accused sex predator Jeffery Epstein.
Gaetz, who once filed a bill based on a thread his staff saw on r/TheDonald, and last year tweeted a now-debunked anti-Semitic video that accused George Soros for financing the migrant caravans, went on Jesse Watter's show Watters' World to suggest that the internet, and its many elaborate tubes “built” by former Vice President Al Gore, are now rigging Google, Facebook, Twitter, and every other website to hide Bill Clinton’s connections to Jeffery Epstein, and “elevate” stories about Trump’s connections.
“If you look on the internet, all of the references to Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein are suppressed, and people are trying to elevate some connection between Epstein and President Trump,” said Gaetz in a tweet following the show. “I think this is probably the best evidence we have that Al Gore invented the internet…”

Of course, if you google “Bill Clinton, Jeffery Epstein” you’ll get many articles about Epstein’s connections to the Clintons, like this one from CNBC about how they had dinner together once, or this one from the New York Times about how he took a trip on Epstein’s private jet.
Perhaps Gaetz doesn’t understand that your own personal actions on social media and search engines can dictate what you see, which might explain why he, and just about everyone else, is witnessing a garbage heap of Trump/Epstein stories, like the recently unearthed video of Don and Jeffery ogling girls at a party in 1992, or the time Epstein rode on Trump’s private jet.
Of course, if there weren’t so many connections, there also wouldn’t be so many stories.
Regardless, both Trump and Clinton seem to have plenty of connections to the South Florida financier, who was just denied bail and is facing serious charges of human trafficking and sexual assault. However, there’s zero evidence that any of these stories are being “suppressed,” which suggests that either 1) Gaetz doesn’t know how the internet works, 2) he’s attempting to shift the dialogue from Trump’s connection to Clinton’s connection (both are shady), or 3) his brain is what’s actually being suppressed.
Maybe Gaetz can find answers on InfoWars, a show he once appeared on that in the past has pushed crackpot conspiracy theories like how the government controls the weather, the existence of “Lizard people,” and the horrid Sandy Hook crisis actor theories.
