Yet another Music Issue 30 under 30 artist (Kasey Maloney and her country-western rock band Fever Beam) is in action on Sunday alongside Tampa indie-rock favorites DieAlps! (featuring newish keyboard player Erin Robbins).
MUSIC ISSUE 2018
St. Petersburg’s Kasey Maloney ditched garage-punk to explore country-rock with Fever Beam
All of this serves as the run-up to a comeback show from South Florida Kanine Records signee Beach Day, which hasn’t played a live show in the area since 2016. The return comes with a recording (“Run Away With You”), which is only available on vinyl. “It’s a classic Beach Day track. It’s fun with melancholy lyrics and cool instrumentation,” Beach Day’s Kimmy Drake, whose move to Michigan caused the band hiatus, told the Miami New-Times. “You can’t find it anywhere digital. It’s a vinyl exclusive, which is something we figured we should do for once.”
Beach Day w/DieAlps!/Fever Beam. Sun. July 29, 5 p.m. $8. Microgroove, 4906 N. Florida Ave., Tampa. facebook.com/microgroovetampa.
