The next big thing for 97X’s Next Big Thing? An expansion to two days and the addition of The Killers.

Yes, those Killers, whose hit 2004 single “Mr. Brightside” was the soundtrack to your college years.

Today, 97X revealed that the Las Vegas-based rock giant is the headliner for Next Big Thing’s also newly-announced Friday night concert on November 22, which is happening two days ahead of the already-announced November 24, Sunday night show with The 1975, Revivalists, AJR, Judah and the Lion and Silversun Pickups.

White Reaper, Shaed, Morgxn, Band Camino, Twin XL and Smith and Thell are also coming to MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, and even more acts are supposed to be added to the Friday lineup.

The addition of both The Killers and a Friday night show means that 97X’s Next Big Thing is once again a two-day affair.

Tickets for the Sunday show did start at $35 when we published this post, and we’ll update you when ticket prices for the Killers’ Friday concert become available.

This might be The Killers’ first show in the area since a 2009 set at the USF Sun Dome.

Two-day tickets to Next Big Thing start at $50 and go on sale Wednesday, October 2 at 10 a.m. Individual tickets to the Friday and Saturday shows start at $35. Visit 97xonline.com for more info.
