“Eleanor,” the new single from Florida indie-pop band Flipturn, is about a stubborn daydreamer who believes in miracles but won’t do anything about them.
“We can all confess to being stagnant in life out of our own irrational fears and self-doubt. Being at the climax of the song you’re ready to make a move and conquer life, but nothing works — your feet don’t move,” the band told CL. The song’s sound, like its message, is a slow-build where arpeggiated notes culminate in a big wash of guitar fuzz that’ll have you at least swaying your hips.
Listen to the song below and see Flipturn in real life when it headlines a free, family-friendly outdoor concert in downtown Tampa alongside soul-pop songwriter Ella Jet and Empire Cinema frontman Brendon Hock.
