Concert: Colour Revolt

Sunday, June 8

It's been awhile since Fat Possum was the hippest indie label in the South, releasing vibrant discs by overlooked blues greats like R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough, soul hero Solomon Burke and cutting-edge blues duo the Black Keys. Unfortunately, recent years have found Fat Possum issuing discs by acts like Colour Revolt, a young band from Mississippi trying to bring an indie sensibility to Delta blues à la the Black Keys — but with far less success. The band's Tampa show is supported by History and Mouse Fire. Sun., June 8, 7 p.m., Orpheum, 1902 N. Avenida Republica De Cuba, Ybor City, $8, myspace.com/colourrevolt.
