Hillsborough County residents will be able to get free curbside-delivered face masks, starting this week.
The county is providing residents with free reusable cloth face masks beginning Thursday, July 9, at several county libraries. No appointment is needed, but the county has advised calling or texting the library upon arrival. Staff members will then deliver masks curbside.
Each resident will be given two masks and can request more for immediate family members. Residents can pick up the masks from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at these Hillsborough County libraries:

New Tampa Regional Library, 10001 Cross Creek Blvd., Tampa
SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin

After voting to mandate masks indoors beginning June 24, Hillsborough County’s Emergency Policy Group voted Monday to extend the order, while shifting some non-compliance penalties from businesses to uncooperative individuals. As long as businesses require employees to wear masks and post signs and make announcements urging customers to do the same, they cannot be penalized for non-compliant individuals. Now customers could be individually subject to $150 fine and a civil citation.
