The break-up. We've all been there. Whether you were the break-er or the break-ee, breaking up is hard to do. Sometimes, yes, it's because you don't want to hurt the other person, and other times it's because they start following you everywhere. No matter the story, it's better when you share it. That's what this month's True Stories (a Keep St. Pete Lit gig) is all about: sharing breakup stories. Graphic designer and artist Jay Hoff will kick off the evening as the "featured storyteller."
Want to tell your story? Here's how it works: Put $5 in the "fuckit bucket" and wait for emcee Lisa Kirchner to call your name. When she does, it's your turn to mercilessly relive the horrors and comedy of that time when you ended it (or she did, or he did). The only rule is that you can't use notes.
Don't want to tell a story? Perfect. Come, grab a drink on the dog-friendly patio, and listen to others.
