Art/party: ARTpool ARTparty

Saturday, April 19

Local artists Marina Williams and Aubrey Bramble have pooled their creative brainpower and cofounded a new and innovative approach to showing and selling art: ARTpool, a community-oriented studio/gallery/event site that spotlights a revolving cooperative of emerging Bay area talents. Participating artists pay a nominal monthly fee to rent ARTpool wall space and receive 100 percent of the profits for whatever they sell. ARTpool does its part by offering regular gallery hours for walk-in and scheduled clients to view works, hosting monthly art events and providing publicity via MySpace, regular e-mail blasts and a continuously updated website with a virtual gallery of displayed works and artist photos, bios and links to their personal sites. This Saturday night's ARTpool ARTparty is the official grand-opening celebration. Guests enjoy complimentary refreshments and all manner of creative diversions — music, fashion and plenty of visual arts by a roster of respected talents, among them, Jon Hobbs, Emiko Oye, Cindy Linville, Karleen Clark, Chris Costabile, Kelly Blanchat, BlueLucy, Carol Jeffers, Bradley Ennis, Brianna Kole, Matt Moore, Matt Sunderman, Michael Spadoni, Michael Hooker, Pyramid Photography and Inman.
