BEST COMEBACK

Imago artists

When an act of arson stunned Dunedin and ousted the Imago artist group from its Douglas Avenue storefront, the displaced artists were quick to bounce back with help from the city and the Dunedin Fine Arts Center. After a DFAC fundraiser that netted $38,000 and a relocation to a city-owned building, the artists resumed opening their studios to the community each month. While nothing will replace the destroyed building, big-hearted responses from people and organizations throughout Pinellas turned artists struck by tragedy into the comeback kids of the year.
