Tonight in live music; Switchfoot & Relient K, Dru Cutler, Millionyoung, Noisefest, Radarmen & more

It's your last Friday before election day.

Folks who still have the right to vote (remember when we had to fight for those or those people who still don't have them?) might want to go do that today so that they can enter the weekend knowing they'll be spending election day (Nov. 8) chillin' watching returns.

You'll want to have a clear head going into tonight because there's so much live music to pick from. See what we're talking about below.

Switchfoot w/Relient K Two Christian-leaning alternative rock powerhouses have combined for a co-headlining bill where Switchfoot plays the best of their 20-year old discography (including cuts from a new album, Where the Light Shines Through, released this year) while Matt Theissen leads Canton, Ohio pop-punk icons Relient K through a storied 11-piece discography of their own. ZZ Top w/Goodbye June It’s finally happening. After a few starts, stops and cancellations, Bay area fans are finally getting to see Houston, Texas rock hall of famers. The anticipation for this show quickly spilled over to the box office as this show has sold out. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) SOLD OUT

Golden Child w/Thee Joker/Shady J/Danny Danny/more Although he’s rooted in hip hop and R&B, Golden Child has earned a strong following in the drum and bass scene thanks to relentless gigging that all started when he was 19-year-old with a guest spot at Webster Hall. VaPOUR isn’t the first place you’d think to catch a DJ spin in Ybor City, but promoters have been doing a good job making sure 15th Street gets some attention these days. (VaPOUR, Ybor City) INFO

Dru Cutler w/ \GreyMarket/Four Star Riot Dru Cutler bought his first Fender guitar at the age of 14-years-old right here in Tampa. He’s a graduate of the University of South Florida who once worked in Busch Gardens’ “Mo’ Rock ‘n Roll” show, but he’s since taken his song to a new hometown, Brooklyn, New York. He comes home to play alongside a pair of beloved Tampa Bay acts, GreyMarket as well as Clearwater power-pop quartet Four Star Riot. (New World Brewery, Ybor City) INFO

St. Pete Noise Fest w/Dendera Bloodbath/Vasectomy Party/No Face/Vantage Planets/Divorce Ring/White Alabastard/more Once again, like they do almost day in and day out, the Venture Compound in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District continues to push the boundaries of what we’re accustomed to in art. For their perennially popular Noise Fest, the collective is welcoming over two dozen noise artists from around the globe for a weekend of music where they’ll work through almost a dozen hours of music that will test the limits of your cochlear cavity. This event is loud and 100-percent free to attend. (Venture Compound, St. Petersburg) INFO

Millionyoung/Sigh Kicks/T3ddy Ruxpin (LONER Art Show Opening) The Bends — just off Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg — is a highly social, classy dive where friends of all stripes gather to bond over mostly two things: booze and art. So why throw a LONER into the mix? Because the mythical misanthrope arrives at the hands of former CL creative director Todd Bates who is presenting documents which prove the existence of a mysterious, bigfoot-like creature roaming the eastern seaboard. The show runs through December 1, but Bates & The Bends are inviting a pair of Magic City dance music maestros into the mix for an opening reception where Sigh Kicks will dole out indie-pop like their 2015 single “Around Downtown” right before Millionyoung takes over the floor for a set of ass-rattling, introspective chillwave. There’s no cover and special cocktails, per usual, but you have to be 21 & up to walk in.  (The Bends, St. Petersburg) INFO

Dirty Bourbon River Show Raucous, New Orleans style swamp music comes to live at Florida’s oldest microbrewery where the Dirty Bourbon River Show brings a brand brass-driven of party music that fits in at both Mardi Gras and the travelling circus. (Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin) INFO

Florida Orchestra Masterworks Series: Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony One of Mozart's most revered works gets the treatment all weekend starting with this performance where Michael Francis conducts the orchestra plus young violinist Benjamin Beilman who'll make his TFO debut on Prokofiev’s "Violin Concerto No. 1" and Stravinsky’s "Symphony in C."
