The Polk County Commission and Winter Haven Mayor Bradley T. Dantzler have endorsed Legoland Florida’s reopening plan, so the park has plans to reopen gates to guests on June 1, the same day Legoland’s new Pirate Island Hotel makes its debut.
As we’ve come to expect, guests can expect new safety measures including, reduced capacity (50%), cashless payments, social distancing practices and enhanced cleaning regimes in accordance with guidelines set forth by the CDC.
Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reached out to a rep for the park to see how many people the park can host at one time, but was told that, "We are not able to release attendance or anticipated attendance numbers."
It should go without saying, but guests experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 should refrain from visiting Legoland. What’s more is that all park employees and guests will be required to undergo non-invasive temperature checks.
“Those with a temperature of 100.4 F will not be allowed entry, nor will those in their party,” Legoland said in a press release.
Guests are encouraged, not required, to wear masks, which will be provided free of charge, but all Legoland employees will wear facial coverings.
Additional safety measures include:
- Suspension of character meet and greets and other select attraction
- Brick-themed spatial markers and kid-friendly and parkwide signage to help remind guests of social distancing recommendations and hygiene practices
- More than 200 new hand sanitizing stations throughout the park
- Enhanced cleaning measures throughout the day will disinfect high frequency touch points, including ride restraints, tables and chairs, service counters, handles and door handles
- Enhancements in the Legoland mobile app over the coming weeks that will allow guests to reserve their spot in queue lines for major attractions directly from their own devices
- Guests are arriving by car leaving spaces in between vehicles and following additional spacing instructions
