As of now, it’s still unclear Tampa Bay how bad Dorian will be for the Tampa Bay region, but that doesn't mean you shouldn’t be prepared. From school closures, to pet-friendly hurricane shelters, to local evacuation zones, here are some important resources to help you prepare for the storm.

Hillsborough: Wharton High, Yuengling Center, Burnett Middle, Turkey Creek Elementary, Riverview High
Pinellas: Palm Harbor University High School, Largo High, Gibbs High
Manatee: Braden River High, Manatee High, Mills Elementary
Hillsborough: Classes are canceled for Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Pasco: No updates as of yet
Pinellas: All Pinellas County schools and related activities will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3. and Sept. 4.
St. Petersburg College will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 3. At this time, the college plans to continue normal operations and activities throughout the weekend. Please remember, the college is closed on Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day. College leadership, working closely with Pinellas County Emergency Management, will continue to monitor the storm over the holiday weekend. Leadership will hold daily calls to discuss updates and make a determination about reopening
Polk: Polk County Public Schools will be closed due to Hurricane Dorian on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4. Polk State College and its collegiate high schools will be closed Saturday, August 31, through Wednesday, September 4; the College will continue to provide updates regarding the storm, closure, and event schedules on polk.edu.

University of South Florida: Closed Saturday at 10 p.m. through Tuesday
Hillsborough Community College: Closed through Wednesday

Pinellas Park Wounded Warriors Abilities Ranch Bike Ride and 5K Run: Rescheduled for Sept. 1
State Parks: Alafia River State Park and Anclote Key Preserve State Park have closed their overnight facilities

The sandbags will be available daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice, and residents must show ID (valid driver's license, utility bill, or electric bill) to verify that they live within city limits. A 10 bag limit will be enforced.
