On Monday, the first day coronavirus vaccines were administered in Florida, the state reported another 8,452 infections, bringing the total number of cases to 1.1 million. Locally, Tampa Bay added 1,570 coronavirus cases and 29 deaths on Monday. As the Tampa Bay Times pointed out, Hillsborough County now leads the region with more than 1,000 coronavirus deaths. In addition to all that, Florida still has a positivity rate of about 8.3%, well above the World Health Organization’s recommended 5%.

Still, the live music scene is trying to find its feet even as last-minute postponements (the Michael Tolcher show set for this weekend at the Attic in Ybor was rescheduled) derail an already ravaged concert calendar. We’ve marked the gigs at venues that have joined a local “Safe & Sound” initiative that pledges to strictly enforce limited capacity, mask wearing and social distancing.
