Tampa has always been good to Jon Snodgrass (listen to Drag The River, Scorpios and Armchair Martian if you’re among the uninitiated). The goofy, veteran Americana songsmith was a regular at New World Brewery, but he feels like he’s kinda-sorted starting all over again since the beloved Ybor City venue is currently unavailable as it re-locates to Sulphur Springs.

On Wednesday he arrives at a spot that’s new to him (Hooch and Hive, which is quickly becoming an essential spot for small shows), still supporting a 2016 7-inch, “1-2-3-4/Perfect Match,” and while Snodgrass is an old friend, we’re excited to see if he also plays anything from Scorpios’ 2017 album, Scorpios Too.

Gainesville’s pineapple-punk king, Jason Guy Smiley, opens this essential Wednesday-night gig.
