Together: 17 years
The story: Bill and I met at Tampa General Hospital. He was a dying man with a heart that was destroyed by a one-time heart attack. I was one of his many nurses. He spent 10 months at TGH waiting for “the gift of Life.” And as he tells the story, “He gave it away as soon as it came. I married my favorite nurse”!
That was Oct. 28, 1999, when he received his new heart. Six months later, on 4-21-00 we were married! And BTW, his new heart is #421 in the heart transplant program! And we didn’t realize that distinction until months after we were married. Meant to be!
