St. Petersburg's Boyd Hill 5K trail run returns on December 1

It's a fun run through Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.

Trail runs are the best runs.

If you — like me — are rejoicing in the absence of boob sweat with today's cooler temps, maybe you — like me — are also thinking about how this is primo running weather.

Last year my husband and I — and four of our more fit friends, including CL's own Resie Waechter and her wife Stephanie, who are CrossFit badasses — ran in the 4th Annual Boyd Hill Nature Preserve 5K.

The trail run was amazing — so much so, we gave it a Critic's Pick Best of the Bay (actual award: Best Fun Run That Was Actually a Crapload of Fun)  — and we're thrilled to see it return this year. Aside from the kick-ass trail, the proceeds go to Boyd Hill, probably one of the two coolest urban parks in Tampa Bay.

Here's what's cool, too — since I ran last year, Anytime Fitness sent me a link to get five bucks off the registration, and they said I could share it with my friends. Y'all are my friends, so here ya go — register for the event and use the code "REPEAT" at checkout to get the discount.

See you at the starting line!
