Three C's: BT Nguyen plans fresh concept for Westshore area

Cuisine, culture and community are at the helm of a new Tampa concept from BT Nguyen.

Executive chef and owner Richard Bottini quietly closed Six Tables at 4267 Henderson Blvd. May 31. But the Tampa space didn't stay empty long.

BT Nguyen, a longtime Tampa restaurateur and chef, has leased the building with plans to open up a fresh concept. Building on her past success, she's set to combine some popular items from her full-service Restaurant BT, premade dishes from the recently opened BT To Go, and most importantly, add French bistro selections for her new BT To Go & Bistro. Customers may either dine in or take out, a carry-over from BT To Go.

Nguyen says she wanted a place that involved three C's — cuisine, culture and community — and that she thinks the Westshore area is a great spot for her concept. The plan is to keep the same layout as Six Tables, but to brighten up the space by taking down the current window coverings. Twenty seats will be available inside.

"We will continue serving fresh and healthy Vietnamese-inspired food, but customers will be able to come in and enjoy a glass of wine with dinner if they want," she said.

Growing herbs and vegetables in an on-site garden will help take advantage of the bistro's large adjoining parking lot. As with BT To Go, there will be dedicated parking spaces for pick-up service. Nguyen hopes to open by mid-August.
