If memory serves from watching The Jetsons, we're all supposed to have flying cars by now. That hasn't happened yet, and neither has easy access to wifi. I mean, OK, it's in most places, but not all, and seriously, why are we, as a society, still struggling with this? I mean, yes, I know we used to live in caves and all that, but we don't anymore, so why isn't free wifi everywhere?
Thanks to the Safety Harbor Public Library, you can have your own hotspot — for a while. This month the library started lending wifi hotspots to anyone with a Pinellas Public Library Card. That's anyone, not only Safety Harbor library patrons. The idea is to provide free internet access to families and students who need it.
Have a PPLC library card? You can check out a hot spot for up to four weeks, so long as you're 18. Bear in mind, too, the hotspots have security filters that will keep you from accessing some sites (if you catch our drift).
