Welcome to Day Two of your foreshortened holiday work week. Here's a thing that should kill at least five minutes.

You gotta hand it to Verizon — if their giant network is gonna have a massive outage centered on three areas of Florida including Tampa Bay, they are definitely gonna get it restored just in time for you to receive all of your delayed messages while driving in Monday-morning rush hour traffic.

Pringles did a crazy-smart and gross promotional thing by sending "turkey dinner" packs of eight different chip flavors from stuffing to creamed corn — packaged in an old-school TV-dinner style tray — to media outlets. We didn't get one, but sincerely hope that everybody that did washed it down with their remaining Pepsi Salted Caramel.

Has it been long enough to make calling for the removal of Confederate monuments retro-cool? Probably not, but Lakeland's Munn Park statue has once again become controversial. Also, never stop.

And finally, members of the Seminole Heights community showed their gratitude to the first responders who've been a presence in the area for more than a month now by throwing them an appreciation dinner yesterday. Sometimes you need stuff like this to keep you going.
