Ever wonder how much media coverage of the Iraq War — or any war — you can trust? This weekend's Journalists & War Conference offers insight into the inner workings of war coverage while addressing a myriad of timely issues. Former BBC reporter Martin Bell, NPR newscaster Corey Flintoff, War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death author Norman Solomon, and Bryan Whitman, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense, are among the guest speakers who address issues of government/media relations, accuracy, safety and ethical concerns. A pre-conference screening of the documentary War Made Easy begins at 7 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 15, Davis 130, USF-St Petersburg, Second Street S. and Second Avenue S.; the conference occurs Feb. 16-17, 1-6:30 p.m. Fri., 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat., Steidinger Auditorium, Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, 100 Eighth Ave. S.E., St. Petersburg, free admission.
