Summer concerts are much more bearable indoors, but it’ll get plenty hot when Janet Jackson comes back to Tampa this summer.

On Monday morning, Live Nation announced that Janet Jackson would return to Tampa on Sat. June 27 for a concert at Amalie Arena.

It’s the 53-year-old pop icon’s first show in the area since summer 2018, and tickets go on sale Tues. Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. EST via ticketmaster.com.

A press releases says, ". The outing will feature an all-new production featuring new music from her highly anticipated, forthcoming album Black Diamond, set for release this year. Performing songs from her 12 multi-platinum albums including a special performance of Rhythm Nation 1814, which recently marked its 30th Anniversary."

Jackson, sadly and unfairly, became the pariah for a 2004 Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction (Justin Timberlake, who many argue caused the malfunction, got off relatively scot-free), but she's since embraced the debacle. Last Sunday, before the Chiefs beat the 49ers in Miami, Jackson shared a tweet acknoledging that Super Bowl Sunday is and will forever be #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay.

The show is one of three Florida dates on Jackson’s “Black Diamond Tour,” which also hits Orlando (June 26 at Amway Center) and Miami (June 24 at American Airlines Arena)
