Muse w/30 Seconds to Mars/PVRIS Muse comes back to Tampa Bay with its electrifying, space rock show in tow. It’s the first time back since 2013 for the two-time Grammy-winners, and they’ll rely on the talents of Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto and his band 30 Seconds to Mars for an opener. You may be more familiar with Leto for his role as the Joker in last summer’s Suicide Squad but don’t let that fool you since 30 Seconds To Mars currently holds the Guinness World Record for longest rock tour of all time, with over 300 shows played in a two year span. Del the Funky Homosapien w/Blackwell At 44-years-old, Teren Delvon Jones is still funky. Kids may know the emcee better known as Del the Funky Homosapien from Gorillaz’s 2001 hit “Clint Eastwood,” but the rest of us know Deltron from his days ghostwriting lyrics for Da Lench Mob and his 1991 hit “Mistadobalina.” Del recently teamed up voice actor Phil LaMarr (Family Guy) for a story called “Watch How You Talk To People,” and his 2008 Def Jux release Eleventh Hour still gets spins in our cranky old car CD player. Laidback Luke w/Sunnery James/Ryan Marciano He was born Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen, so we’re glad the dutch house producer shortened the moniker up to Laidback Luke. The 40-year-old responsible for songs like “Show Me Love,” “S.A.X.” and “Turbulence” is going to be heating it up for Beach Bar (formerly known as Hogan’s Beach) as the venue tries to reboot its concert calendar after fallout from noise levels disturbing the neighbors. Blue Sunday w/DJ Cub/EZ-Rob/Gabe Echazabal/Denis Morecraft You read his words on the pages of Creative Loafing, and now you can hear Gabe Echazabal’s impeccable taste in real life when our resident rock historian joins the Blue Sunday as they spin a selection of indie, alternative, punk, and new wave at our favorite bar in the land.
