Brian Wilson’s September 2016 Pet Sounds show at Mahaffey Theater was supposed to be the last time fans got to see the Beach Boy play songs from the iconic 1966 album live in and in person.

The enigmatic 76-year-old songwriter and composer flipped that idea on its head when he announced another round of Pet Sounds dates, including one on May 18 at Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall which was postponed after Wilson had to get back surgery.

Well, Wilson is all healed up and ready to see fans again, and while some critics crack on the guy’s voice losing its luster, nothing can compare to seeing the joy in Wilson’s eyes as he works through some of the most important tunes rock and roll has ever produced.
