The Humane Society of Tampa Bay wants to know who tossed a kitten out of a moving car, and now they're offering a $1000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
The cat was thrown from a vehicle at approximately 3:57 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, in front of the shelter on Columbus Drive.
Miraculously, the kitten survived the incident with just a bloody nose.
“What if it had been squashed by a car?” said Sherry Silk, the shelter’s CEO in a recent Facebook video. “Shame on them. You can’t do this type of thing.”
The kitten, who is too young to be up for adoption, has since been named “Columbo.” The shelter says they will announce when the cat can be adopted.
In the meantime, stop throwing cats. “If you have kittens and you don't want them, you can bring them to us or the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center," said Silk.
At the moment, no police reports have been filed, but anyone with information on the cat throwing incident can call the shelter at 813-774-4309.
