She's the irreverent, no-nonsense racist-B.S. watchdog reporter on the Daily Show, who expertly radicalizes both relevant and ridiculous current events. Jessica Williams, both a writer and performer on the Comedy Central fake news show now hosted by Trevor Noah, will deliver a lecture tonight in the Tampa campus's Marshall Student Center Ballroom, presented by USF Lecture Series.
Williams will be showing clips from the series and provide the audience a behind-the-scenes and her lighthearted approach to serious issues.
Later this fall, Michael Uslan, the executive producer of the Batman film series, will lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Marshall Student Center Oval Theater. Laverne Cox, from Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, will deliver a lecture on Monday, March 21, as part of the spring series. Other speakers to be announced.
University Lecture Series events are free; doors open at 7:30 p.m. Non-USF students will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis after students are seated. Visit uls.usf.edu for details.
