Last night, the D.C.-based group EMILY's List named six Democrats running for Congress next year as "On The List," including Jessica Ehrlich in St. Petersburg and Gwen Graham in Tallahassee. Both will be running against Republican incumbents next year, and this mention can only help them gain recognition as they gear up their campaigns.
It is not, however, an endorsement from the group. That would come from EMILY's List political action committee, but according to a press release from the group, it does guarantee that the candidates "have access to this powerful network of supporters."
Ehrlich was endorsed by EMILY's List last year, in her maiden run for political office. Though she was soundly defeated by Bill Young in Florida's 13th Congressional District last November, she received the second largest percentage of votes against the 22-term representative from Pinellas County since he was elected to serve in Washington in 1970.
