As reported by businessweek.com, a new study in The British Medical Journal finds that your sex life usually dies by 70.
Sex for men usually ends around 65 while most women stop having sex around 61. These estimations are based on a mid 90s survey of 3,000 men and women between 25 and 74, and a mid 00s survey of 3,000 men and women between 57 and 85.
Compared with women their age, older men were more likely to report a quality sex life and interest in sex. This gender disparity was largest in 75- to 85-year-olds. Around 40% of these men were having sex as opposed to 17% of women.
This study reinforces the assumption that the quality of one’s sex life depends largely on health. As health deteriorates, so does sex. The study found that healthy people are two times as likely to be interested in sex as the unhealthy. Yet another reason to quit smoking, diet, and hit the gym.
