Skate Park of Tampa (SPoT) and Red Bull team up with award-winning artist for mural

Red Bull is sponsoring nationally recognized and world record holding artist Tracy Lee Stum to create a  3D mural on the floor of Skate Park of Tampa for the parks upcoming 17th Annual Tampa Am competition. The mural, approximately 25 to 30 ft in diameter, features 2 angry looking bulls (yes- they are red) breaking  through the concrete floor. Stum's 3D renditions are amazing. Seen from the spectator area, the concrete appears to be flying through the air where the charging animals break through. The design was one of Stum's 5  different orignal renderings presented to the sponsors and is a dynamic interpretation of the bulls utilized in the Red Bull logo.

"It's all math!" according to the artist. Her street art is usually done in chalk.. something she calls "urban self-expression". It usually lasts until the elements wash or scrape it away.  She hopes that this project has a little more staying power, as she is using concrete paint and then sealing it to help with the wear that thousands of skateboard wheels will bring. Stum has been doing similar projects for nearly 13 years.  She is an internationally recognized 3D artist and carries the distinction of being in the Guinness Book of  World Records for for the largest street painting by an individual, awarded in 2006.
