Chalk up another win for the plant-based community.
All Tampa Bay 4 Rivers Smokehouse locations are now serving vegan Beyond Burnt Ends Sandwiches. The brand launched the 100% plant-based dish as a way to celebrate 4 Rivers 10th anniversary, and to appeal to their vegan and vegetarian guests.
“The 4 Rivers culinary team spent months perfecting the Beyond Burnt Ends and we’re very proud that we’ve created a plant-based barbecue dish that has been so well received by our guests,” John Rivers, Founder/CEO of 4R Restaurant Group said in a statement. “As a brand, we’re constantly evolving and listening to consumers and right now there is definitely a demand for plant-based barbecue.”
Wanting to stick to classic flavors, the Beyond Burnt Ends sando is packed with Beyond meat that is double hickory-smoked and slow-roasted, covered in a vegan-fied version of 4 Rivers' signature sauce on a "vegan-friendly" brioche bun. Diners can snag the sandwich in half-pound or one pound portions.
"A lot of people are surprised when learning that my wife Monica is a vegan", added Rivers. "I joke that this is God's way of balancing out the universe. But the reality is that through her, I learned to appreciate the power of offering plant-based barbecue options, and the importance of making sure this product meets the high standards of the 4 Rivers brand."
This won't be the only vegan thing on the menu. In near future, 4 Rivers will continue to roll out plant-based eats as a part of its “Beyond BBQ” vegan line.
