The Bern’s Steak House family has rolled out their ice cream and pastry shop called Little Midway, located at 1205 S. Howard Ave. The shop is now in soft opening stages, but feel free to swing by and grab a scoop to escape from the heat or random bouts of rain.
The freezer will be packed with flavors including the Bern's dessert room favorite macadamia nut — which, by the way, is a Bern’s signature recipe that took late restaurant founder Bern Laxer seven years and more than 300 iterations to perfect. Did we mention that you can take a pint to go?
Both the pastry chef Heather Birr along and head baker Michelle Guy hail from the Bern’s Steak House’s pastry department and promise to bake up up some whimsical treats for customers that aren't found in the Bern's dessert room. There will even be desserts for pups!
Hours for Little Midway are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
