Good news: The federal judge who struck down Florida's gay marriage ban as unconstitutional has elaborated on his original ruiing, saying it applies statewide. This means same-sex couples should be able to apply for and receive marriage licenses statewide starting Tuesday. The flipside: bigoted clerks in Duval, Clay and Baker counties have reportedly decided that while they will comply with the license law, they will no longer perform wedding ceremonies in their county courthouses AT ALL in order to avoid performing gay weddings. Wonderful. You know who else gets rid of something altogether rather than having to share it equally? Spoiled kids and inbred royalty.
Jeb Bush resigned from the board positions he held with multiple nonprofits and other businesses, ostensibly clearing his calendar (and doing away with any potential conflicts of interest) for a serious look at a presidential run. In other news, Marco Rubio and Chris Christie have reportedly pooled their money to rent a billboard reminding Republican pundits and voters they're still right here, guys.
And finally, Wisconsin defeated Auburn 34-31 in overtime in this year's Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Highlights: Both teams did football stuff really well, but at the very end, Wisconsin just footballed a bit harder, and its slightly better footballing was rewarded with the win.
