Sh*t happened 6/7/16: Colin soaks the bay, Bondi conflict of interest, animals saved

Did you manage to stay dry yesterday? Of course you didn't; no one did

According to an AP report, Florida Attorney General and noted influence-seeker Pam Bondi "personally solicited" a political contribution from Donald Trump, and her office decided not to join an investigation into accusations of fraud on the part of his Trump University soon after receiving a $25K donation. Wow. Ladies and gentlemen — your dully elected public servants. Maybe quit putting nakedly ambitious and obviously self-interested power-vampires in office, whaddaya say?

A Tampa Bay Times story about a presentation made to the company by Tampa Bay Rays representatives revealed the lengths the team is going to in order to try and create a new stadium that generates as much revenue as possible even when the Rays aren't playing. Note to Hillsborough County taxpayers: You know what a Rays stadium that's also a mall and a cooking school and an incredible restaurant and a water slide DOESN'T need? A Rays stadium.

And finally, the number of pet animals put down via euthanasia at Pinellas County's "big four" animal welfare agencies dropped 27 percent las year, and the number of stray animals picked up fell 21 percent. Adoptions are up, too. Huzzah! Nice work, everyone. Take fire and grab a quick drink over there at the newest pet-friendly local craft brewery, then let's get back to it.
