A hint of some of the changes going on at the Tampa Tribune are apparent on today's front page, where long-time sports columnist Joe Henderson has moved to news, and gets prime real estate above the fold for his first column today.
Meanwhile, the managing editor of the Trib, Duke Maas, tells CL that (with all due respect) it's nobody's business about who among the 165 employees at the paper got laid off - that readers will find out soon enough by leafing through the paper.
We're well aware that we're still 10 1/2 months away from the general election, so any or all polls reflecting the mind-set of the voter this far out need to be look at with considerable skepticism. Having said that, we did find this new USA Today poll of the 12 battleground states interesting, and not good news for Democrats this far out.
And the Tampa City Council looks like they'll go ahead and vote to penalize johns who get busted while soliciting prostitutes from their cars - but not everyone agrees it's a good thing.
