Rubio declared winner of Florida's longest Senate contest as polls close

It's been a long, sprawling saga, and now it's over.

Marco Rubio has been declared by the Associated Press as the winner of the Florida U.S. Senate race, immediately after the polls closed in the Panhandle.

What that means is that though we're far from knowing what the final margin of victory will be, it ain't close.

Charlie Crist ally Mike Fasano, state Senator from New Port Richey, just congratulated Rubio while speaking on Bay News 9.
