A week from tonight Bill Clinton will headline a Democratic Governors Association bash in Miami Beach to raise funds for Charlie Crist's campaign coffers. In response, the Republican Party of Florida (naturally) has found some stock footage when Crist was a Republican saying some not so nice things about the former president.
The time was early September of 1998, when Clinton was fighting off calls everyday by Republicans (and even conservative Democrats) to resign in the wake of the Monica Lewinsky controversy. Crist made his comments while battling then incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Graham for a U.S. Senate seat. Check it out:
“The only thing that stays the same about Charlie Crist is that he will say or do anything for money and fame," said RPOF Executive Director Justin Johnson. "Was Charlie Crist lying then, when he called Bill Clinton a liar and asked him to resign from office, or is he lying now, when he calls him a friend?”
