Starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Petersburg's Taste of Grand Central welcomes local eaters to an all-day drinking and dining excursion "out" on the town.
Nine restaurants around the neighborhood are getting in on the fundraising event, part of Come Out St. Pete, a new multi-event series in St. Pete and Gulfport that coincides with National Coming Out Day and the Tampa Bay International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, which runs Oct. 6 to 14.
Community Cafe, Old Key West Bar & Grill, Casita Taqueria, Pom Pom's Teahouse & Sandwicheria, Punky's Bar & Grill, Urban Comfort (there's a shuffleboard challenge), Beau & Mo's Italian Eating House, The Queens Head, and Craftsman House are the participating eateries. Each plan to donate a portion of their sales throughout the day to Come Out St. Pete.
Later in the evening, the food and drink festivities are paired with a TIGLFF flick, After Louie, at Empath Partners in Care.
