Named among U.S. cities like Nashville and Phoenix, the American Homebrewers Association has included Tampa on its list of up-and-coming homebrewing hubs.
The AHA, a community for homebrewers, looked at factors such as homebrew clubs and membership, economic impact and proximity to craft breweries to determine its report, titled "7 Homebrew Hot Spots to Visit Now."
"Craft brewing and homebrewing have long supported one another: a thriving craft beer community nurtures a healthy, growing homebrew culture, and vice-versa," said Gary Glass, director of the American Homebrewers Association, in a statement. "Some cities are legendary for such pro-am symbiosis, while others are gaining well-deserved reputations as up-and-coming homebrew hot spots."
Rounding out the list of destinations are Boise, Idaho; Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota; Rochester, New York; and Windsor, California. Tampa, which will also host events to celebrate Saturday as AHA Learn to Homebrew Day, is in good company.
