We've been waiting with bated breath for updates on the reopening of the beloved Fly Bar & Restaurant.

Leslie Shirah Culbreath, co-owner of Hotel Bar and Fly Bar & Restaurant, told CL that due to some unforeseen difficulties with permitting, the restaurant is shooting for a December opening. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly from here on out.

The new location of Fly is stationed at 442 West Kennedy Blvd. near the University of Tampa.

Although there will not be a rooftop bar, the concept will host patio seating. When it comes to the menu offerings, Executive Chef Justin Dunfee is switching things up for locals, but keeping some Fly Bar favorites.

Hotel Bar’s Beverage Director, Alex Watson will refresh Fly's cocktail menu, but don't worry about the Fly Margarita because it isn't going anywhere.

Wanting to come back with a bang and win Tampa Bay's affections back, the new fly will offer lunch and dinner service seven days a week. More details to come as permitting and construction continues.
