On the Radar: Bob Preston: A Life in Photographs and Patricia Preston Warren: I Am my Father's Daughter at The [email protected]

Welcome to On the Radar, where we preview upcoming events to mark your calendars for. Beginning tomorrow, the [email protected] offers a tale of two Prestons with exhibitions of black-and-white photography by former St. Petersburg Times shooter Bob Preston and color photography by his daughter, Patricia Preston Warren, a visual artist who works in digital imaging, among other media.

More than 50 of the elder Preston’s iconic images of downtown St. Petersburg and a couple of Tampa — including two captured during Gasparilla of 1947, the first pirate fest staged following a moratorium on the event during WWII — invite visitors to journey back to the 1940s through the 1960s. Around 40 mostly color images by Preston Warren take a more
