The Heights District is getting ready to welcome a new Italian cuisine concept, Rocca at 323 W. Palm Ave. this September.

The new joint will offer up views of the Tampa skyline.

Sounds like a new serious date night and elevated dining destination for Tampa.

Rocca will focus on dinner service, beginning with starters ranging from a simple sourdough served with lemon butter and sea salt to cedar key clams prepared with red chili conserve, bagna verde and toasted breadcrumbs; not to mention calamari and cheese board options.

The handmade pasta-focused menu has an intense selection of dishes like the Ravioli al Uovo with an egg yolk center, spinach and ricotta filling topped with calendula.

Chef Bryce Bonsack created the menu to reflect Italian fare with regional Florida ingredients.

Signature salads will be prepared fresh and will get your stomach ready to be filled with all of the carbs.

Don’t stress it, it still counts as a date night.

Entrees include fish, chicken, pork and fat steak options. Like the Bistecca, which is a steak dry aged for 60 days served with crispy potatoes, vincotto, and brown butter.

A wide variety of cocktails will be poured up — everything from classics like Paper Planes and Negronis as well as craft creations like the Lady in Pink which is made up of gin, rose, simple syrup, and grapefruit soda.

Mocktails will be poured for those who are looking for that extra oomph without the buzz like the Honey You’re Mine made up of Darjeeling black tea, warm spice simple and lemon-honey soda.

A hardy wine list will also be available with a selection of sparkling wine, rose, whites, and reds.

The restaurant is still looking to hire servers, bartenders and a host for the front of the house. Back of house positions that are still up for grabs include sous chef, line cook, porter, and an a.m. prep chef. All those interested in working at the new place in town, visit roccatampa.com.
