Blue State and Rod Smith

Why couldn't Blue State Digital been as creative for Rod Smith as one of its employees was for Barack Obama?

Blue State Digital was the former home to Phil de Vellis, who has been outed as the genius behind the YouTube "Vote Different!" ad that skewered Hillary Clinton with Apple's classic "1984" commercial. He says he did it independent of Blue State's work for the Obama campaign, and that he resigned. (His former employer says he was terminated.)

Blue State did website and consulting work for Smith in his unsuccessful 2006 Democratic gubernatorial campaign, according to the Florida Division of Elections. Blue State got more than $51,000 from the Florida Democratic Party and from the Smith campaign itself.

We can't blame Blue State for the infamous helicopter ad that likely stalled (if not sank) Smith, but what a difference between that and the 1984 spot.
