A devastating fire at the South Tampa location of Louis Pappas Fresh Greek on Bay to Bay Blvd. forced owners to close down for renovations in April of last year. The renovations were only expected to take a few months. Finally, a little over a year later, the location is gearing up for its reopening.

The restaurant is shooting to reopen late next week following final inspections.

Earlier this month, the franchise hosted career fairs to revamp staff.

Although Louis Pappas has locations throughout Tampa Bay, locals have been on the lookout for the South Tampa staple to reopen.

The restaurant's famous Greek salad is a family recipe created over a century ago. Louis Pappas also offers flatbreads, signature sandwiches, pita sandwiches and classic Greek entrees including chicken spanakopita and dolmades which is a mix of ground beef, rice, tomato, Greek spices, rolled in a tender grapevine leaves.
