Keep St. Pete Lit is busy in the Burg this week

A walking tour, writing contest with Green Bench and the new BookSpace are in the offing.

Keep St. Pete Lit, the Burg's decidedly analog social network for lovers of the written word, has a handful of worthwhile events you should know about:

Tonight,  the organization will partner with Saint Petersburg Preservation for a downtown walking tours. The Downtown Tour With a Literary Twist starts at 6:30 p.m, in front of the Snell Arcade, 405 Central Ave. Tours are free to SPP members, just $5 for non-members. Reservations are recommended but not required. Click here for more info.

On Sat., Aug. 22, 7-10 p.m., Keep St. Pete Lit will partner with Bluebird Books Bus at Bloom Art Center to host the soft opening of BookSpace, a new shop featuring the best in used & vintage books, zines, ephemera and small handmade art, all in a charming, cozy atmosphere. All proceeds from BookSpace sales go to support these two terrific literary organizations. Visit during Bloom's big Legendary show and party this Saturday night.

Now through Sept. 15, Green Bench Brewing Co. and Keep St. Pete Lit are teaming up for Final Draft: St. Pete Stories Writing Competition. Write a story or poem in any genre that is 1,000 words or fewer inspired by the name of a Green Bench Beer. Deadline for submissions is 5 p,m. on September 15, 2015. keepstpetelit.org/finaldraft.

Also, ongoing,the organization provides free writing classes at Morean Art Center's LitSpace. September classes are now online for registration.
