Jeb Apparently Does Nothing Except Answer E-Mail All Day

That's the implication, anyway, of the Florida Times-Union report citing "[the governor's] office" for the stat that he's received more than 2 million e-mails in his 8 yrs and has answered them "[m]ore times than not." Let's call it 1.1 million answered, 95 months in office. That's 12,000 a month, 400 a day. Of course, they're not spread evenly, so the fewer in 1999 and 2000 have to be made up by more than 400/day in 2005 and 2006. Um, I think we need a good ol' fashioned Florida recount! (It's [email protected] if you want to add to the tally.) [Florida Times-Union]

Probation Is So Inconvenient!
New York socialite Jane Choate, 88, who winters in the F State, is on probation for a road-rage incident here but last spring was allowed to take the probation back home to NY. Well, now, it's winter, and she wants to transfer it back to Florida, but the judge in Stuart, Fla., said, hey, lady, probation is punishment, and we're not here to accommodate your schedule. Choate was convicted in an incident in which she decided to disobey a road crew and drive her Lexus around them, in the process hitting a worker twice (and then, after he tracked her down at her club, she reacted in the Socialite Way: by accusing him of being rude and threatening to have him fired). Floridians With Worse Sex Lives Than You

Aaron West, 50, a former pastor at the Faith Baptist Church in Lawtey (down the road from the state pen in Raiford) was arrested for having sex with a teenage girl. He is already a registered sex offender for a couple of attempted Internet meetings. [St. Petersburg Times]

Your Daily Loser
Eloise Reaves, 50, became only the latest person to lodge a police complaint about getting ripped off in a drug deal. She approached a sheriff's deputy in Palatka, took a rock out of her mouth, and laid it on his car so he could see for himself what "bad crack" looks like. [Associated Press via]

More Things To Worry About Today

You know it's your time to go: A 47-yr-old motorcyclist was killed on I-75 near Tampa when he ran into a wild pig that jumped onto the highway [WTSP-TV (St. Petersburg)] . . . . . Battle of the ego'd-up state's attorneys in northeast Fla.: Jacksonville's Harry Shorstein is conducting an official investigation of Volusia's John Tanner (and both men's imperfect kids are part of the story) [Florida Times-Union].
